The Canary Islands added 159 new cases of coronavirus this Thursday , two more than on Wednesday, and one more death due to Covid . The death toll is already at 266.



11.20. EUROWINGS FLIES AGAIN TO THE CANARY ISLANDS FROM FIVE GERMAN AIRPORTS

Eurowings, a subsidiary of low-cost flights of the Lufthansa group, flies again to the Canary Islands from five German airports after Germany has excluded this archipelago from the list of territories classified as risk in relation to the coronavirus pandemic.

Eurowings reported this Friday that it will fly to the Canary Islands on a regular basis from November 7 from the airports of Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Cologne / Bonn and Stuttgart.

It will also offer a special flight from Düsseldorf to Tenerife on November 1 at a cost of 64.99 euros.

The Canary Islands recover tourists from Germany and the United Kingdom , where 55% of the international visitors to the islands come from, shortly after the start of the high winter season, after both countries have decided to eliminate the restrictions they maintained due to the pandemic of the coronavirus .

Both countries have decided this Thursday to lift the restrictions on travel to the Canary Islands that they had maintained since this summer due to the pandemic and have classified the archipelago as a safe destination for tourism, which implies that they will no longer force their citizens to undergo quarantine when they return of the islands.

The airlines already have 71 flights scheduled from Germany , with an offer of 13,000 seats, and 92 from the United Kingdom , with 18,000 seats, bound for the Canary Islands, after both countries have lifted the restrictions that kept tourism on the islands.

Although it will be necessary to see how the final schedules are, from the 24th to Friday the 30th of October, that number of flights has already been scheduled, reported the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands, Yaiza Castilla.
